Yeah, it doesn't work for me either. I've got an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.1. The reading of texts works fine though, so I'm happy with that.

I've lost all my Texting abilities. I have a motorola Atrix. Used to work awesome. I could send texts, recieve texts, text to speech. No nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Bummer
