Here's how I do it with Android Lollipop on my 3.6.2 MFT. I have a Panavise mount for the phone right next to the MFT so I can see it. Bluetooth automatically connects when I enter the car - and my voice commands are picked up by the Ex Bluetooth mic to my phone.

Then I just do everything separate from the MFT via Google Now (Google's Siri) with voice commands over Bluetooth.

Send text to so and so (then dictate) and command to send (Google Now voice prompts come over car speakers when it asks you what to do next).

Send email to so and so (then dictate) and command to send

Call John Smith mobile (boom - does it from my contact list)

Call Home Depot in Plymouth Meeting (boom - does it even though it is not on my contact list. Finds the number on the net within 20 seconds and calls)

Set doctor's appoint for 3pm Thursday - and it is set on my calendar.

Play music (then I get random play of the 1,800 songs stored on my phone)

Play so and so song

Play U2 playlist (I have about 30 playlists set up for groups or types of music)

navigate to so and so address or name a business and town (then get turn by turn over car speakers and map on Phone over Google Maps/Nav)

I can glance at the phone in the Panavise cradle next to the MFT to see that all these tasks are being done that I dictate by voice over Google Now.

To receive over car speakers, I use the eCID app. Reads name from contact list for calls dialed in. It allows you to set how fast texts are read over the cars speakers and how many times you want a text read (I have it set for 2 times) and will also read emails and calendar notifications if you check those boxes (I have text reading turned off on the MFT as it reads only once too fast).

I personally see no reason to update 3.6.2 as this works perfectly for me, and MFT 3.6.2 has been flawless for me after all the the MFT issues so I don't want to fix what is not broken.

Only reason I am posting this is for those with Siri having any issues, going my way let's you do everything you want it to do assuming Siri would work over Bluetooth in the Ex as Google Now does as I described above.

Found a possible bug in v3.8.

If your listening to Sirius Radio and then use SIRI from the steering wheel voice control button and then finish with SIRI my system auto launches Bluetooth audio streaming rather than going back to Sirius.

Im running iOS 9.2 Beta 4 on my iPhone 6 so I'm wondering if this is an iOS Beta issue or a MFT v3.8 issue.

Anyone else see this?

I do this quite often and have never had this issue. iPhone 5s iOS 9.1(?)

Tested this bug with another two iPhone 6 running public iOS 9.1 and there is no issue so it's my iOS 9.2 Beta software, not MFT v3.8.

I've not updated yet, as I'm always late to the party. Hopefully soon though. But a question first: I read through this thread & saw conflicting posts regarding the iphone 5S & whether it works or not with the new Eyes Free update. Anyone else have knowledge or experience on this?

It absolutely works. We have 3 iPhone 5S's and 2 vehicles with MFT v3.8. All work in all vehicles.

I have recently uploaded the "Siri" update v3.8 (Shows as 3.08 within Sync) and its registered as successful. However my Bluetooth paired iPhone 6 or 5, does not seem to register anything when the Long press of the Voice button is completed.

I've tried a Master reset the Ford Sync. I've re-paired the connection, tried a USB connection even done a network reset on the iPhone.

Anything else you can recommend?

Did you, on your iPhone, go in to Settings, Bluetooth, under My devices click on the circled "i" to the right of SYNC and then turn on show notifications?

Or did you delete SYNC connections from your iPhone and from your MFT and then re-pair them and then turn on show notifications.

When you press and hold the voice button you should see "SIRI" in the upper left corner of the screen. You will then hear the SIRI "ding". If you see SIRI in upper left corner, but don't hear the "ding", try turning up the volume when you see SIRI. Like I said we have several iPhones that work.

I was experiencing the exact same issue (iPhone 6 on 9.2 beta). MFT master reset resolved the problem!

Thank you, I'm on Beta 2 v4 now but I will try that now.

For a while I was getting WhatsApp messages through MFT but that's gone now, too bad.

UPDATE: did the Master Reset, no change, did a 30 min batt disconnect, no change.

I contacted Ford customer service more than a year ago to ask them to mail me the USB stick upgrade for 3.6.2 which they promised to do. After several followup emails and more promises they never did. German dealerships who have the ability to perform the upgrade seem to be non existent for US spec vehicles. Can someone PLEASE provide a working link to download the software for 3.8?
