i was wondering if it would be possible to take a delux console (one that connects to the dash) and bolt it in in place of my regular console? would it be doable if i had a shop install it? Or even better, would the shop be able to make a custom one? Because i plan on putting a TV screen in it, rather than a motorized one in the dash. If i can fit the console, could i fit a 10.4 inch screen in it?

if you really want to get this done i'll build it for you. i'm working on an 11" in my dash and a custom console for myself right now.

i figures it wouldnt. if i was to get one of those, id probally have to settle for a 7.4. How much would you charge to build the console? Could You build the vcr/dvd player into the bottom of it?

i can build just about anything if you give me enough time. i'm planning on fiberglassing over a wood skeleton to make my console and then painting it with the exterior white and flames- that process (the prep and paint part for the exterior finished look) is very time consuming. as for building the console itself i'll know more about how long that will take soon.

just to give you an idea of what i can do- my console is going to house an xbox, a head unit, an 8" thunder 6000 woofer, two equalizers, cupholders, and possibly a set of 130a focals.

if you really are serious about this let me know and i'll give you some kind of an idea about just how much your console would cost to build. it really depends on how you want it finished and if it needs to hold other things as well.

also, would you be interested in purchasing the screen from me? i'd build the console a little cheaper if you did.

i am really interested in having this done. Im trying to decide if i should have it done in tan to match my stock interior, or in red/white, like my interior will be when im done in a few months (Red Mercedes Benz Carpet/Headliner, White Leather Seats with Red Inserts and Contrast Piping (white piping on the red and red on the white), and im painting my entire dash/Door Panels/Cargo Area Panels in white to match). But I might leave it stock and just add woodgrain and chrome/billet everywhere.

But i would like it too house a 10.4, my VCR/DVD Player Combo, and possibly a navigation system. Do you think it would be possible to build like a hidden area inside of it? Like say if im looking thru the storage area, there be something to the side, and underneath be anouther storage area no one would know about?

How much would you want for the screen? I can get a real good deal, so ill possibly buy it myself. I Dunno yet.

and then the part thats between the seats like a normal console, minus the armrest that keeps breaking and a little taller to compensate for it

im serious as a heart attack. just gimmie a price and a time frame.

also, due to an incedent tonight, where my sisters 5 day old Panasonic CD player was stolen out of the parking lot of the Reliant Center at the Texans game while security SHOULD HAVE BEEN PATROLING safety has become important to me. Could the screen be maybe say half a inch in the console, and have a sliding cover or something? If this sint possible let me know. Also, can i see pics of your console? And also itll be flush to the dash and look like a factory one?

mine isn't finished yet

it will be a challenge to make your screen disappear for anti-theft and still look clean. i am making mine so that the screen is removable to solve that problem, but the screen location you want makes that more challenging. your time line for this is probably going to be giving me a week to build it and starting to build it two weeks from now or anytime after that.

Also, if i show you the dvd/vcr i want and a website to buy it, will you purchase it and ill pay you back when i pay you, or would you like me to purchase it and ship it to you, or what would you like to do?

and just too make sure u understand, im trying to remove my factory console, which doesnt have the part in the middle that extends too the dash, with a console that does have the peice in the middle that connects with the dash with the TV in that peace. Also where will it meet the dash?? Under The Lighter/Ashtrey or will it cover them up?

SOrry too ask all these questions but i really want too make sure that you know exactly what i want and can do it before we make any kind of commitment.

i understand exactly what you mean

i'll get you prices for some different screens and a few other options when i get back from vacation on friday or so. i'm in az right now playing golf and don't have time to price everything out.

i'd guess the biggest screen i can fit and all the work could run as much as 2500 (and thats for a painted finish too) but it could get done for much less- particularly because i could simply modify my own stock console (that does reach up to the dash) and sell that to you modified.

also, it will fit up under the dash just like stock does (well- stock with the long console) i'm not really sure where your ash tray and cigarette lighter are with your short console- but i'm sure i can figure out how it should fit together when the time comes.

could you fit a 12 inch screen if i ship it too you? how much would you charge for labor and such if i sent it & the VCR?

12" screen should fit fine, the console would be a bit wider than a stock one, but no wider than i plan on making mine anyways.

i can't give you a quote unless you let me know how you want it finished. i could make it look great carpeted for 400 or painted for 700. of course we need to get some more details worked out first- such as what the screen looks like and what not (just so i know that it will fit and all) etc. but those are definitely ballpark and maybe on the high side.
