- 17 F150 EcoBoost 4x4
Well, I bought a new (to me) '17 EcoBoost F150 a couple days ago. That's the new daily instead of the old Explorer. I have too many non drive-able vehicles parked out back. A 96 supercharged Riviera (still runs and drives fine, just has no AC and a broken drivers seat back.), a 2002 Mounty with a pretzel TRE and needs an alternator, and now my 98 Sport. She blew a steel brake line Monday, and the Wifey said I was getting a new truck, so I bought one Thursday. As much as I'd like to keep her around as a toy, it's just not worth it. It was originally a Michigan truck, and I bought it in NE Indiana in '06. The body and all the little brackets and tabs, and brake lines apparently, are disintegrating from rust. The 4.0 SOHC has 196k on it and has a death rattle pretty bad. If the body and other metal was good I'd fix (or swap) the engine, and if the drivetrain was good I'd swap (or cut up) the body. Unfortunately neither are good. She's on her second engine, 2nd t-case, and 3rd transmission. It's time to let her go.
Too bad I just put new tires on it, smh.
