'99 Eddie Bauer
Hi! :)

I'm Mike and I drive a 1999 Explorer Eddie Bauer AWD with the .302ci 5.0L OHV V8. There is no modifications and it has every single option other than a sunroof and power lumbar seats (it does have power adjustable seats though).

Great looking truck man. That's my favorite color and everything. Also, welcome to the site!

About your signature, your engine is a 5.0L OHV not a DOHC.

Thanks! :)

What is the bug?

Ooooh I think I know what you mean by the bug...

The Wilderness AT's did me great up until this august. I don't see why this warning was needed. Some people just don't make sure that their tires are inflated enough (between 27-30 psi). I checked mine weekly, making sure it was around there, but Ford phoned me asking why I hadn't taken their Recall tire offer.. I just said it didn't matter.. but then soon after I accepted.. Free tires? Why not? :D

It's funny to see a speedometer on an Explorer that goes up to 200. Man, that thing must fly:rolleyes:

Mike, your truck looks great!!! I love that color. I would've gotten that color for my '96 but Ford didn't offer it then.

Thanks very much!! :)

I really like your explorer because it's the traditional "eddie bauer" green. I remember when my dad bought a brand new '92 Eddie Bauer for my mom, it was the same color. In my opinion, the Eddie Bauer is built around that color; Ford has just advanced on it since then. :)

"The Bug"...

You will totally understand "The Bug" when you realize that you can put a 3" Body Lift, 4" Suspention Lift (or both) on youe X along with 33"-35" tires... that is just the start. By the way sweet looking X, it is in great shape and I love that color.

Looks Good

Man that is the caviar of explorers I love it, how much did you end up payin for it in the end? with no mods

I got an amazing deal on it. It had 41,000 km's on it which is about 20000 miles I think.. and they wanted $27,000 for it (which is about 16,500 american). Well, considering that 27000 was still a hell of a deal and I'd purchase it no matter what, I wanted to see if I could squeeze anymore out of them. They ended up giving it to me for $25,000 :D

$25K Canadian or US?

about the tires. I had the same one on my X. if you go across train tracks or drive alot in the rain i would seriously recomend some better tires. For some reason i had major problems with those tires on wet roads. y freinds had the same problems. they last forever but have no tration on wet roads or metal. I drag raced once in wet weather and sat there just spining them around in circles.
right now i have goodyear ultra grips (not the ice ones the ones for off road use) the only problems is I can't go over 99mph with them. I have had the Michelin's up to 140mph without a problem.
