Miscellaneous questions!

The options for 95-97 are basically the same while 98+ changed things up a little.

The Eddie Bauer package is not just a paint scheme on 95+ Explorers. They get (on top of what an XLT gets) specific seats(with electric bolsters), digital climate controls, the famous trip computer, voice recognition cellular phone, auto dim mirror, auto headlights, 16 inch wheels(4x4 only, available on sport, not on Limited) and alot of other stuff. I think the only option you could get on 95-98 Limited's that you couldn't on the EB is memory seats. They give up the bolsters on the Limited's though. You can get an air suspension also(not on XLT). I think the JBL system w/ sub was only offered on Limited and EB models. If you get an Explorer and plan to upgrade the stereo system, don't get one with the JBL. They are toooo much trouble.

Actually, some of the features mentioned above are options. The voice recognition cell phone, auto dim mirror and headlight activation, sunroof, cloth seats, cd changer and the air suspension are all options. I know this is because I have none of the above other than sunroof and cloth seats. The '95-'97 Eddie Bauers have two packages, I forgot the package numbers but the base Eddie Bauer has what the base XLT has...premium sound system, no fog lights, base center console, Eddie Bauer leather seats. The top-of-the line Eddie Bauer gets all the goodies minus the options I mentioned above but you can order them as extra cost options. the 16 inch chrome rims are standard on both 4x4 and 4x2 from '95-'96. 15 inch chrome rims are standard on the v8 models up til '97.

1) Do 91-94's come with those auto dimming mirrors in the newer ones, and do they have the north south east west indicator on it, as well as all those other little gadgets attached to the mirror?

I think diff. model explorers had the auto dimmer mirrors, but the 94 Limited definately got an overhead temp/compass, the auto mirror, and the auto headlights.

Yep, sure thing. I've been driving her exp. for about the past month (til my '97 is complete) and it's got the autodimming mirror/auto headlight feature. It's original equipment.

not that it matters, but my factory '94 xlt has auto headlamps and an auto-dimming mirror

Well nevermind then, I guess I've been proved wrong.

Hey, I have a question. I don't have any documents or anything from when the Ex actually left the dealer, I was wondering if it was possible to find the list of options that it came with? Can I do that somehow, besides crawling all over the truck looking for options?

My interior is all maroon, came that way.

my last vehicle was a contour...a wannabe ricer, but it cost too much to keep running so i bought an ex. i still have some ricer in me too so you can check out my ex and my contour (although i forgot to take final pics of stuff like my underbodies and exhaust before i got rid of it) on my site: Dead Link Removed there are different links along the left that will guide you to more specific pages. i also have added a power moonroof to my ex which i dont have pics of yet.
