I just had a recalled Firestone ATX replaced on my spare, and I discovered that my tire dealer gave me a Goodyear Wrangler RT/S "extended load 108S" tire. I currently have four of the "standard load 105S" tires.

Is there a major difference in the tires, or can I mix them? My initial thought is that I should see if he can replace the tire with a standard load tire. ( I rarely tow or offroad.)

BTW, the lettering on the new tire also looks different since it is more slanted. I don't know if this is the case for all new RT/S tires. Thanks.

I'm no expert but I'll bet that it's probably not the best idea for long-term. But if it's your spare, I'd guess that you'd only run it until you could get somewhere to have your normal tire repaired. But then again, it may be perfectly fine if you don't tow or offroad.

the load rating differences wont cuase any harm.... a 105 and 108 isnt that much of a difference
