A friend of mine gave me some 16" steel wheels off of a 3rd gen explorer so i thought I would pick up a used set of 16" tires to throw on them, nothing like having spare sets of wheels w/tires.
I stopped by a local tire shop where a friend of mine works and he said he had 4 265/somethin/16s with good tread, problem is they arent all the same brand. 2 of them are michellins and 2 are firestones. The tires have very similar tread patterns and roughly the same amount of tread left.
For the price of the tires + m/b I cant beat it the deal. I plan on running these on my 97 AWD after shackles and a TT, I dont think theyll fully clear otherwise. My question is.. will this affect the truck in a negative way? I know running odd sized tires can ruin drivelines, but what about running 2 of one brand on the front, and 2 of another on the rear?
Any feedback would be appreciated...
