For the early arrivers, I would like to recommend Top of the World on Friday. I've heard it's an all day run, pretty tame, but incredibly beautiful views. I haven't done this trail yet so I was hoping that someone who has would volunteer to guide.

This is exactly the trail I would like to do on Friday. Nothing to crazy to break and miss the next 2 days of wheelin. I'm in Kevin. My plan is to leave PHX thurs afternoon, probably get into Moab late Thurs night probably crash anywhere.

I know my brother-in-law is also in for the Friday Top of the World run, so that's three rigs so far, anyone else.

Dannyboy, do you know how to get to the trail head? For any experienced Moabers, is this trail well marked?

nope, never been to Moab except the time I drove through coming from WI and I was hurling sick from drinking 4 Monsters. Spent the night at a hotel and crawled back in my truck to continue on to AZ.

Let's maybe start another thread or set a time for this Friday run and a meeting spot off the main road in town Friday morning. I'm sure we could get some GPS starting points. I might have a buddy joining me from Vail CO who is a Moab regualar.

This thread is fine. Pretty soon we should have a full schedule for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Need to keep it here to allow others to post in. The regular meeting place is the City Market Grocery Store parking lot in down town. Can't miss it, only grocery store there.

If any of you have the Charles Wells book it is a piece of cake. The trail head is easy to find but there's a couple of intersections that you need to know which way to turn at or you're lost. The Charles Wells book gives perfect directions so you know which fork to take when the time comes. Besides those intersections the trail is almost always obvious. There's a couple of places where it goes across slickrock and the tire tracks may be hard to spot, but the slickrock sections are very short and by the time you're on them you can tell where to go. There's been a huge bunch of groups of us that have run Top of the World over the years, and none that I know of has ever gotten lost on it.

Jefe and I did a night run to TOTW - Very freaky to lean over the edge and not see the bottom - even with his 2 Million Candle Power "Torch of God"

Would Poison spider Mesa be good for super stock rigs??

Tim

Make that 5 big daddy. My cousin and I are arriving Thursday and want to do milk run on Friday. I've only gone once to TOTW and that was many moons ago. Besides even if I knew the trail I'm Chief Fakrwee.:D

Dang I wish you were going Gerald your tour guiding was great last year, and will be missed this year..

I am really looking forward to this trip, but I am afraid of what the gas will be by the time I get home:thumbdwn:

Okay, I am no expert, but pretty sure that is a photo shop :D

Looks like we have a gap of time that would be well filled with a return trip to Moab (first time back since 2000).

Would be fun to go back and explore some of our favorites (Posion Spider, Steel Bender, Fins & Things, Porcupine Rim, etc.) as well some new ones. . .

Good to see you around Paul:thumbsup: It would be great if you guys could join us:D

I've run the trail before and would be glad to lead. If I get lost at least I'll have company:confused:;)

we should be there thursday night, so count us in on friday runs

If Bob or Tom want to borrow my Moab guide book all you have to do is pick it up. At least something of mine will be making the return trip this year. As long as you don't return it with the pages stuck together.:confused::rolleyes:;):D

You can borrow mine, but it's a little used. Be sure to return it with all the pages intact and in place ;)

So it looks like Friday is covered.

For Saturday or Sunday, I am not sure the name of this trail but I think the obstacle is called Escalator or something. :D  Anybody else?
