I'm having a problem with the driver side of my motor blowing coil packs. I had already replaced the #5 from a previous problem, but since then, the #6 has went out, and yesterday the car started running rough again and threw another misfire code. I researched this forum and found that the number at the end of the code represents the cylinder that is misfiring. In this case it is #8. So I pulled this pack and immediately smelled that burnt electrical type smell. I noticed slight moisture on the boot, but when I looked down in the whole there was a good 1/4 inch of fluid. I'm thinking it's mostly antifreeze because it had kind of a sweet smell to it but it didn't really have the green color. I'm not sure if the #6 that was replaced had this problem because I paid a shop to replace it. But they did not mention moisture, they said my plugs being worn out caused it.(which I believe is total BS because they only have like 30k miles on them)
What could be causing this? I'm not seeing an obvious leak anywhere, And the only coils that have failed have been on the same side. I'm hoping it's not the intake leaking on the side, but I'm not sure.
