Has anyone replaced the switch for the moonroof?

Any hints or suggestions? I have not looked at it yet.

Thanks ....

I haven't actually replaced the switch but I have taken the overhead console down to add an auto open module for the sun room. Its been a few months since I took it down so I may be wrong, basicaly you just pull the console down at the windsheild and slide it away from the sunroof. The switch is held in there with 2 screws I think. Very straight forward. hope this helps.

Yeah, it's Cake. I took mine down to see how much room was in there to mount Switches for my Offroad lights I will get eventually. There isn't a whole lot of room, but it's really easy to remove. Just tug on the front near the windshield and the spring clips ( I think that's what they are called) will pop out. Then if you push back the trim near the back of the counsel (also the trim around the moonroof) it will drop down. The tab that goes into the trim is sticky, just to warn you. There are three Electrical connectors up there. Good luck.

I wasn't asking about how to remove the console, just the switch.

Thanks guys.

ok well the switch is either screwed in or snapped into place, I can't remeber. Once the console is removed the switch is sitting right there in the middle of the console.

Sorry bout that. The switch is fastened with 2 screws. There are 3 connectors on my truck. One on each side of the switch (To what I have no idea) And then the connector for the actual switch. I'm sure you've figured it out though, You seem to be a pretty mechanical Guy.:D

Fortunately I resolved the problem w/o replacing the switch. It was a wiring issue.

Thanks for the help ....

So You need to remove the entire center roof counsole in oder to gain access to the section the switch is located in? Because that area or panel looks to be seperate from the rest of the counsole that houses the direction tempdisplay or am I right at comprehending what I am reading that I have to remove the WHOLE counsole thing?
