Sorry for the long post, but here goes. I took my 01 explorer sport to aamco last month for a warr repair on a transmissin they rebuilt. The transmission would barely move in any gear except 2nd. A month later they said it was fixed, picked it up and whenever it hit 3rd it would not shift until about 4500 rpm's. I drove home, and guess what? Lost all but 2nd again. Called and they said they did a rebuild but must have not found the problem. So here is what it does, when first cold runs fine, once warm it starts slipping and if I can get it into overdrive it will not slip, or second gear sometimes wont slip. As far as the rest it will not hardly move. Here is my question, can anyone tell me where this problem may lie, valve body, shift solenoids, etc. I would like to try to repair this because I cannot afford to let my truck sit at the transmission shop for another month, or is this something more internal than shift solenoids or valve bodys. Any opinions and comments are appreciated. Thanks
