My son just bought a '95 Explorer 4x4, with 167000 miles. It is showing the following codes:
P0113, P0118, P1298 and P1509. So far I have replaced the Air Intake Heat Sensor(P0113) and the Engine Coolent Sensor(P0118). I cleaned the Mass Air Sensor and put a brand new paper filter in(taking out the K&N that was installed). I put in new plugs and wires, which immediately smoothed out the idle.
I cannot find any reference anywhere on how to fix the P1298(Injector Driver Module Failure). But the car is running fine.
According to the booklet that came with my code reader, the P1509 codes is not a Ford code. So I am at a loss as to what it may be so I can fix the problem.
However, the same codes are still showing. I unplugged the battery to reset the computor, but as yet haven't tested it since I did that. I am running the car a bit to let the computor reset.
If the car is still showing the codes, what is next for me to do?
The Check Engine warning light is not on, it works, but it is not on.

I reader just showed this code I cleared it out thinking the car wash got something wet, got the code right after the touch less wash. I cleared it out and it has not come back

This is a very old thread. Nobody hit on the obvious question...what the heck is he doing with EEC-V (OBD-II) codes on an EEC-IV vehicle?? P1298 and P1509 are not Ford codes at all the best I can tell anyway. In fact, they appear to be Honda specific codes. P1298 is for Electrical Load Detector Circuit High Input and P1509 is for IAC Valve Circuit Failure. He pulled his codes from the wrong spot and his reader somehow came up with that interpretation.
