So my 01 xlt 4x4 with the v6 has developed the death rattle quite badly. I have come across a 4.0 sohc out of an 01 sport track with 110000 miles on the clock. There are a few differences I have noticed between the two. First the intakes are different. I know those can be swapped out no problem. Second the valve covers are different. The oil fill is on the left hand side of the engine as opposed to the right. Plus there are a few other things like vaccum lines and such that appear to be opposite. Now do you guys think I can just swap the valve covers and use everything of my motor with no problems? Would the injectors need swapped as well? Thanks in advance. Also, I am considering replacing the tensioners before installing the motor. Has anyone tried the timkin brand tensioners from autozone? Or would ford tensioners be the safest route? Thanks in advance.

I would say your best bet would be to swap everything from your engine on to the new one so its all the same just different block. That way you know for certain and the computer will never know either.

I'm guessing the oil should would drain just fine even though the filler was on the opposite side then right?
