I would like to put bucket seats in with a center console but would need at least the same leg room or more. I am 6'2" and have really long legs. hard to get out of truck now? Anybody got any ideas or done something to theirs? I would really like explorer seats but they look like I will lose leg room. I do have ****o red interior.

I don't think you will gain to much leg room from explorer seats. I'm 6'3" and my Knees are about 2" away from hitting the dash in my explorer. If your seats ajust manually you could unbolt the seat from the bracket that holds it to the floor and bolt on a strong, flat piece of metal where the seat was, then drill holes into that piece of metal further back and bolt the seat to the piece metal. My dad did this in his mustang to gain 3" of leg room. It might work for a seat with motors but I'm not sure. I can try to provide a diagram if you need it.

My seat is up against the sliding rear window. I have to raise up to open it. I was thinking about maybe thinner in the back, or something? I am not sure how that would work. I have a hard time getting in and out because of work boots. They seem to drag a bit. I have cracked the piece at the bottom of the door that holds the carpet down. I just figuared out how to get the old mirror rear view mirror off, and replaced it with an auto dimming one, not wired up yet. I am not sure moving the mounting point of seat back will help if it is hitting window now? Let me know if I am wrong.

o yea i forgot about the rear window. My idea wouldn't really work unless you do what you said and make the seat thinner in the back. I'm not really sure of any other ways to do it. If I think of anything I'll let you know.

I was wondering if explorer seats would be worst or the same? They seem a bit more padded. I really like the center console. Thanks for answering though.
