2001 Explorer Sport
Hello everyone! New to these forums.

I have a 2001 4.0L SOHC Explorer Sport. What are some cheap things I could do to make more power? It has 203000 miles, so I don't want to go spend a ton of money (nor do I have a ton of money :D).

A few things I would like to do now are enlarging the cold air intake (it's tiny!!), dropping the muffler (keeping the resonator to keep it legal), and changing the throttle butterfly.

Does anyone know if the throttle butterfly was bigger on the older Explorers, like the late 90's 5.0L? If I can, I would just go pull one out the the local junkyard. Also, don't I need to reflash the ECU if I change the butterfly?

I am familiar with OBD-II, so reflashing wouldn't be too big of a problem. I actually have a Sony Vaio mounted to the windshield as a second dashboard that connects using OBD-II.
