I have an 98 Mountie 5.0 AWD. Runs great. I have learned from 2 1989 Town Cars I own what the most likely poblems to occur. Fortunately, the list is not long and keeping those Panthers running is relatively easy. My question: With 95k miles on a Mountie that has never been offroad or towed a trailer, what problems should I reasonably antiscipate. I note most posts seem to be about the suspension. What should I be looking for there. The only problem I have now is the infamous clock/radio. The engine seems very strong. No leaks anywhere under the hood. My ABS light is on but I prefer to not fix it. Anyway, your thoughts please.

Common problems would be the lower & upper balljoints & hub assemblies. The hub assemblies incorporate a ABS sensor so they become quite costly.

The V8 drivetrain is pretty solid, you shouldn't really have any problems there. As far as suspension, balljoints or tierods will probably be problematic in the next 20-30k.
