XLT's Rule!

I love my XLT and think it is the best choice. You can get every engine option available, cloth or leather seats, basically whatever you want. I agree with CougarX about the two-tone trim on the newer EB's, so I got my XLT with the "sport" package which gives me the same grey trim on bumpers, fender flares, etc. as the Sports; it is simply grey while the EBs have a tan trim.

I drove my Dad's "93 xlt and loved it. I bought a Limited and overspent my budget at the time. I love the interior extras, compass, 8 way leather seats. As for the exterior the front air dam is sort of cheap and in the way. I actually ripped it off once wheelin. Ford should have towpoints stock like some of the F150's and every GM truck stock.

The EB is definitely more stylish and less plain-Jane than the XLT model. The fender flares and contrast color scheme definitely make it stand out.

XLT ALL THE WAY!

plain jane isn't what id call me or my dads xlts, both have all opts. but mine is minus moonroof, and running boards. Leather compass buttons gadgets it cant get any better than this for the price i got mine for. Oh and not all xlt are monotone, my dads is a good looking white/dark grayish twotone, looks great. GO XLT!

whoohoo!! xlt. the way i look at it, the more gadgets you have, the more things that could possible break down and/or go wrong.

go xlt, boo sports. sports aren't good when you have 4 people you want to put in your car. but it they are better than xlts offroading and they have a rougher ride from what i've heard

XLT--XLS?

what is the difference between XLT and XLS?
i rarely ever see a XLS. mostly XLT's, sports, and more recently sport trac.

does anyone know the difference between the two? you would think it's something major since there are so many more XLT's.

the xls has less gadgets and gismos than the xlt. i'm 99.9% sure that the xls does not have a leather interior option. i'm 75% sure that you can't get the v8 with the xls either. xls is the base explorer pretty much.

the 2001 sports could only get a 203hp engine: while the EB, Limited, XLS, and XLT come standard with a 210hp engine.

I woulda voted twice if I coulda. My wife and I both have XLTs! 'Course hers is fully loaded with leather and all of Ford's gadgets while mines fully loaded with high-speed low-drag goodies!!

Hell, any X is ok by me.

All versions are pretty good, I'm just not a sport guy, I need the room. Also, EB is too expensive for me. However, I love the grill on the limited's, like Stephen's avatar, that looks sweet.

i like my XLT, but have always (and still do) love the looks of an Eddie Bauer. Thats wht I am adding eddie bauer fender flares and the 2 tone paint scheme. The only difference is mine will sport a nice grey instead of the harvest gold on the eddie bauers.

When I am ready to buy another it would most definatly be a eddie bauer.

The XLS is also a new style. I believe 2000 or 2001 was the first year for it.
