It's that time again, the first time I've taken my ex in so a bit nervy.
I knew I had to replace the drivers side front hub as the abs sensor is shot, and the advisories from last year said the parking brake is poor.
Drivers hub done today and now the abs light goes out, so feeling confident, on to the parking brakes.
I'm not surprised the parking brake wasn't working as they were completely seized and had no linings left.
So eBay to the rescue and a set of brake shoes are on their way, I've managed to free the workings up but what a job!
I hope that's all I need.

How'd the retest go? All sorted and another Ex. still gracing our roads for atleast a year?

I look forward to MOT because it gives me a legitimate excuse to buy stuff for the Ex. :D This year the braking system will be my particular focus (cryo discs and ceramic pads all round; new calipers; brake flexi hoses; shoes etc.) - I swear ours will be one of the last running Ex. on UK roads ;)

MOT passed on Monday, a few advisories on brake pads and tyres.
After changing the parking brake shoes it managed to achieve 27%, massive for an ex it seems.
They suggested some new tyres as the sidewalls are slightly perished.
Rear o/s brake pads are thin.
Rear suspension components slightly rusted.
Rear panard rod(?) shock absorber outer case corroded.
And sill covers fitted.

I'm not sure what relevance the sill covers are as they're standard fit. Being a bit fussy I think.

Now the mot is done I can decide whether to get the lpg system looked at or junk it.
There's a local garage which fits these hydrogen injection kits, I've wondered for a while if they're any good. You get the usual doubting downers on some forums, but never real feedback from a user.

So another old ex on the road again for another year.
