Ok, I replaced my IAC like 6months ago at the most. It makes that freaking howl again, but only sometimes. It doesnt do it in park or nuetral. Seems to be worse with the AC on...anyone else have this happen in such a short time?

everything your saying is the opposite of when my IAC went. it was quieter when the a/c was on and it only really did it when it was in park or neutral. when it was in drive it was fine. it may not be your IAC.

I have seen a fix for this before, that helps out the IAC.

Have you cleaned it?
I have never seen a OHV 4.0L previsous to 95 have a IAC go bad, or howl. I winder if there is a difference in design? I dont think there is.

Also I have seen a while ago a flat gasket made for the IAC with a small channel cut in it to allow a little bit of air to "Bypass" the valve itself....maybe that would help?

I dunno. I know its the IAC though. It used to scream, i replaced it and it quit.

Last night I thought about it more, Ive had my intake gaskets replaced twice (once because i told them to do it, then another dealer did it again b/c they couldnt read). I wonder if one of them threw it around or screwed up the oring gaskets..im gonna check later
