ok i actually have 2 questions

did they make xls's in 99 cuz i father says its a 99 but i dont think they made xls's till 2000????


and how can i tell what motor i have i kno its the 6 cylinder but wich onee

If the 8th letter in your VIN is an E, you have the V6 SOHC engine. If that letter is an X, you have the OHV engine. If you want specs on those engines, go to http://www.explorerforum.com/ntrprize/ , which might answer your other question too.

They sure did make 99 XLS models. I had a great one. They came with the black moulding all around the wheel wells. I did some fun mods with mine...heck, almost had an XLT!! If I do remember right, 99 was their first year.
She's long gone now, but at least I have an 05 to play with.
