That sounds right to me.

Is there anyway I could use the stock 01 ranger intake on my explorer or is not worth it ??????

You have to use your engine harness and fuel rail, as well as the intake.

The motor I am using has not been run in a while and was wondering is there anyway I can prelube the engine to avoid a dry start and possible damage???

Thanks you very much for the HELP .......

You can swap over the bare long engines like for like.
If you had a SOHC you can put an SOHC in and use all the existing accessories, sensors etc.

You can pump oil in under pressure through the oil pressure sender port or you can take the plugs out and spin the engine without load to distribute the oil.

Oh I came across a little problem today ... I picked up a valve cover gasket and found out it's not right because mine has a metal core with rubber around it and the one I picked up is only a rubber gasket so it won't work...
I found the right one but it's going to cost me $40 bucks but was wondering if I can reuse the old gasket????
