Motorcraft Air Filter Fit Problem

Anyone else have this issue? I changed the air filter for the first time on my 2013 Explorer. Decided to go with Motorcraft since this is the Ford recommended part. When I tried to replace the cover I noted that the extensions on the right of the cover which fit into the grooves would not engage. The rubber real was just too high. I ended up having to shave some of the rubber off to get a fit.

I've replaced mine with the motor craft one and had no issues.

I've had the same issue. I was too lazy to shave anything off and got the dealership to put it in for me during an oil change.
