Has anyone installed a conical filter onto a 91 – 94 (or I guess any year) without using the KKM? How have people managed to attach it? The KKM comes with the metal connecter, is there anywhere you can buy that piece or a piece like it separate?

Also is there really any difference between the KKM filter and a normal conical filter apart from the fact that it comes with the metal piece to mount it?

drill holes right into the fiter, which they have at autozone for $20, be verry carefull not to grab the wire mesh or you will toast the filter quick, I know:fire: I only drilled holes on one side so i could offset the maf, and then you rtv the crap out of the other side, when you tighten the two bolts use lockwashers on each side so you can just tighten the nut only.

I made my own adapter. It was constructed out of a muffler conversion peice 3 inch to 2.3/4 inches it was cut in a 47 degree angle and welded to a piece of 16 gauge sleel and painted red to match my X. If you need a picture let me know. I could also draw a scamatic for you as well. :) If you have access to a welder or know someone it wouldnt be to hard.

I have the capabilities to make my own and I think I might. Only thing is I dont know which filter to use, I havent seen any conical ones in any of the auto parts places. Does anyone have a K&N or comparable brand conical filter part # to use? Thanks.
