Well guys, my current mods (3" BL, 33x12.5 on 15x8 rim, 2" TT/Shackles) are leaving me WOEFULLY disappointed. The tires STILL rub or POP on something when turning, especially in tight turns or when I am going downhill and turning. My frame ground clearance still leaves me scraping and banging on a medium trail (Dickey Bell) in Uwharrie (anyone familar with NC or Uwharrie should know what I'm talking about).

While it is a phenominal improvement over stock, it's not enough for me :smoke:

While the truck is in the shop getting the tranny fixed from getting rear ended two weeks ago (HOPEFULLY fixed, I should say), I'm going to be compiling a list of parts and mods that I should be purchasing and how I should plan. My current plan is:

4-5" (depending on price) suspension lift with removal of the body lift. The BL makes me nervous, as I still haven't been able to mount the two bolts under the front floormats because I cannot FIND any shorter bolts in that thread anywhere around here, and it seems to make noise. Am I just imagining it and should just leave it on there, or should I remove it?

Either stick with the 33's or sell them and move to 35's. This, too, is cost-dependent.

Install front locker (LockRite, using vacuum axle disconnect mod) and rear locker (taking suggestions; nothing too pricey, and this IS just a trail rig; my DD is another car)

I imagine I should be able to salvage the shocks (Rancho 9000's).

So, I need....

LockRite
SuperLift (or trailmaster; again, taking suggestions)
What else??

Also, WHERE CAN I BUY THE SUPERLIFT?! Or any lift, for that matter. Nowhere I have looked (4WheelParts, Summit, TruckPerformance) carries the lift for my truck.

I'm open to suggestions on any of this.

I would get the superlift, the steering is better/easier. You will need a longer front driveshaft, probably custom made.

Perhaps you should wait on AussieLocker to finish for your rear locker?

If it is just a trail rig, get a D44 setup and go with that, it will be worth your while. There is a reason that everyone that really trail rides is goin with it.

I would like to do a SAS, but it's just too expensive. After the axle, springs, brackets, etc. and install, I'd be looking at $3k. Add about $800~ for new 35's, and that's a LOT of money.

It's going to have to be a superlift and keep the 33's.

Basically, the question is now,

1) Where should I buy the superlift, and what is EVERYTHING I need to order in order to do the whole truck?

2) Should I remove the body lift or keep it?

3) What rear locker should I be looking at? Would a lock-rite be sufficient, and if so, where could I get it? Lock-rite is what I'll be doing for the front, I already know that.

4) Where can I get sway bar disconnects?

i dont think youd want to do 35's with stock IFS components

Though people have done 35's on the stock IFS, I will be keeping the 33's, as I said in the thread above :)

running different wheel sizes isn't as much the factor as to how much backspacing the wheel has. The Problem with the IFS suspention is the wheel bearings. you could do a 35/12.50 on a 15x8 with 3.75in backspacing and have just about the same amount of stress as a 33. If you do the superlift just do that and TT and shackels to fit 33's. Get rid of the body lift then, but if you want 35's the BL must stay.

Here is the pic of me with the superlift, SOA, and 2" BL with 33's.

Superlift doesn't make a lift for your year truck. I think it's 97 or 98 because the torsion bar brackets are bolted to the frame and the 95-96 they're rivited... or something of that nature. the new lift will work, it just takes a bit more work.

Someone chime in on this that knows a lil bit more

It will work with no modifications. The Superlift piggybacks the existing torsion bar brackets which mean it is completely bolt on. The trailmaster one is not made as well IMO and you would have more issues with the torsion bar brackets.
