Do you have the standard 3.73 gearing though?

As for me I left the rack (nothing on it) on over an 1800 mile round trip to Florida. It was mostly highway with speeds rarely dipping below 60. My best tank was also when i ran the highest average speed of 80mph at 18.8mpg. The rest of the trip was in the low 18's to the high 17mpgs. Thats about the best mileage I get even at lower speeds around 65 or 70mph. The best to date was a couple years ago I got just over 20 mpg, but that was following a motorhome for 350 miles. Amazing how much a block in front of you can help haha. By the way I'm still on stock tire size and 4.10's.

Yes, 3.73 open diff with stock tire size. My rack is a Surco safari with 5 6" Hellas up front so it causes alot of drag.

I don't know how many MPG I get with my 33s and 3.73 gears but it isn't much different then how much gas I used with the stock tires or my 32s when I had them. I'm sure having a stick shift helps.

Filled up at one of three non-ethanol stations in Denver - a real clean, home-owned place - Brad's Conoco.

At $4.29/g, vs the $3.79/g of regular unleaded, I really just wanted to see what kind of noticeable differences there were. I'll report back with gas mileage, hopefully it will be quite a bit better than my current ~15mpg (which I don't mind in the first place).

I don't know if it is the placebo effect or not, but I feel like it is running better already... feels like it drives itself :)

Ouch, $0.50 difference? It's been about $0.30 more for me and I keep doing it.

wow in rapid city you got 85, 87, 91 and the 85,and 91 are both no ethanol the 87 has 10% hell its getting price wise when filling up with E-85 actually pays out 3.79 for mid grade and 3.09 for E-85

Have 31's on my 2001 Sport Trac here in San Diego (low elevation), and the best it gets is 14.5 mpg average. I have a UltraGauge plugged into the OBD2 and it gives me real time mpg along with average. I'm always pretty light on the gas pedal. Is there something wrong with my truck if it's only averaging 14.5?

Has 85k miles, a K&N filter that I keep clean, stock air box snorkel removed, but have yet to replace the spark plugs/wires, and the exhaust cats have never been replaced...if that has anything to do with it.

I'd take 14.5 mpg all day if I could ever get there. I consider myself lucky when I get 11 mpg. Granted it only does city streets and hasn't seen a freeway in years...

The hills will kill it and any time off the highway it'll drop. If I drive solely around Clemson basically to school and my house I barely get 10.
