I'm ready to get started into lifting my 03 Explorer but am a bit confused on some things.

RoadBully spacers are concidered a suspension lift or a body lift? I ask because I'm wanting to do my lifting half body and half suspension. So 2.5" front and 2" back with the RoadBully and then another 3" front and rear by suspension or body lift(depending on what the RoadBully spacers are concidered).

Besides the RoadBully's i was looking at this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRA-PA-883/?image=large

Would this be a good combo, and with this combo would I be able to run 33s without rubbing?

Any help is appreciated, along with suggestions on other parts/modifications are needed/good to go with when lifting an explorer.

Edit: Im pretty sure those are both body lifts. Can anyone link to a good suspension lift, and are they more costly but worth it?

RoadBully's lift's are suspension lifts, they are basically a spacer for your struts. That along with the mentioned body lift should be enough room to tuck some 33's. The highrollers will get in here and provide you with better information:) Also, you can go to the RoadBully sticky in the top of the forum page to learn and ask about RoadBully's lifts.

yep limited02 is dead on. the roadbully spacers just move the strut down and force the spindle and arms to sit lower. the pa bodylift actually lifts the body off the frame.

where in pa are you located? i'm in elizabethtown pa near lancaster and harrisburg. if you are gonna lift it and need some help let me know i have done both the body and roadbully lifts to my mountaineer.

Im in Schwenksville which Im sure you haven't heard of haha.

But Id feel terrible having you help seeing as Id be of no help aside from following specific directions of yours. But im also not sure how the mechanic I know would feel about doing it if there are many alternations needed when instaling either of those or if they are both pretty much set instructions that go smoothly. Also not sure what he would charge.

I might take you up on it though if you have the knowledge and resources needed.

i did both of my lifts the body lift took more time but was the easiest. i'm sure your mechanic could do it but it will take a good amount of time. time is money lol

the rb spacers don't really take long and smaller spacers then mine will probably make it alot easier itwas tight getting my 3 inch spacers in

oh yeah where the hell is Schwenksville? lol

Yea Im going to go with the 2.5" in the front and 2" back so it wouldnt be as tight of a fit as yours. Schwenksville is surrounded by Skippack, Collegeville, Trappe. Its well hidden.

Wow, I've had the EF license plate frame on for less than a week and already two people have joined from my area! Doubt that's why, but it is a weird coincidence...

Also macknos, I was just in E-Town today at the DOC academy, taking my fitness test. If you weren't playing over in the sandbox, we could have had a mini-meet, lol....

haha i def. would have been up for that. we should get all the pa guys together it seems like there are a few of us here

So im not certain about this, but on the running boards, are the top 4 bolt's nuts tack welded on the inside?

I was removing my running boards today and i got to the last bolt when i heard a snap half way out. Now it can no longer be tightened or loosened which leads me to believe what i said earlier. If this is the case, im going to try to get the bolt out one more time tommorow, and if unsuccesful i will cut it off. Either way the nut is going to be stuck inside and I'll probably have a small ratteling sound in there. :thumbdwn:

a meet in PA would be sick !!!

even with just RB's lift cant you fit 33's ???

i do understand the want for 5''s though... im just asking...

Schwenksville....now that's just too funny:D

Me: Hi, where you from?

Doctor: Schwenksville, you?

Just kidding with you man;)

i think it would be tight to fit 33s with just the 2.5/2 inch lift. maybe i'm wrong but i'm sure with some trimming it will all be good. there will be plenty of room wth the rb and bl to clear 33s

i believe they are welded to the body but they might be the clip bolts

That's definitely not the weirdest name in the area, trust me....

And I would definitely be down with a meet.
