Mud Bog/Obstacle course 17 June 06

But to keep this from getting into any type of argument etc... this is the last I will speak of it

I wasn't trying to get anything started Joe.....and I do tend to agree that environmentalist often take it too far. They jump to conclusions the same as the rest of us. When they hear of a Mud Bog going on 1/7th of a mile from a local lake they don't see the image of a controlled environment that these events are...
They invision things like I commented to Phil about a couple posts back, and they react before judging the situation with sound fact gained from research and observation. I suppose I just did exactly that in my original post...........

In the end it's a changing world and like many other things we pay for the few. In this case possibly the eco supporters have overreacted. Possibly they are aware of something that we are not. I actually know little about any of this I just commented on what I read above.

I am glad to hear that you are going to be able to hold the F.W. event.

I know I said i wasn't going to say anymore but, in the case of craneberry lake it is all on the one land owners property it is the lowest point with no water flowing out of it, and actually tanawax creek which is the closest flowing water is on the other side of elevation line over 1/4 of mile away

So what is the counties problem then?

From what I have gathered from the other boards and what not, They are concerned about mud getting in the lake, This issue was brought up by a unnamed person(s). There was a refrence to a David Troutt

Due to the closure of the Cranberry Lake location the Faithwheelers event is being rescheduled and relocated.

The new date is July 29th, 2006. 9am to 4pm. The event to be held in near Buckley, WA.

We'll have a mud bog, and obstacle courses. We're not sure yet about the rock piles - we need to find a way to transport the boulders since we have none on the new site. We'll definitely have a rock garden as part of the obstacle course but it might take another year or so to get a good boulder supply.

Count on having some VERY interesting log obstacles this time and some short but very challenging trail type obstacles.

It'll be fun but a very different course compared to what we had before.

I hope to see a lot of you out.

Way back when that was the thing, to own property. You could say this is mine, but anymore its not. Govornment says you cant do x or y on your own land, they have control, you dont own it anymore IMO. Same with the property taxes, just like renting your land from the gov. I think it sucks you can live somewhere your entire life and ooops, social security doesnt cover food and property tax, you have to go. You dont own it. Of course, if taken to the extream people coukd say its my land so im going to dump any chemical I want and burn tires 24x7. You cant condone that just because people own the land. Its a dillema in my head, still its lame of them to wait and hit you with it at the last minute.

Also, I think the price of gas is going to start helping the environment, Ive only put 500 miles on the ex in the last 3 months, ten in the last 2 weeks. Gotta drive the environmentally friendly escort.

where is it going to be now. i mean an address to mapquest

thanks Joe
still up for giving my girlfriend and I a ride or two. we will probably be there early so if you need any help setting up or tearing down we can.

We can always use help, remember whom ever is riding shotgun is winch ***** (pulling cable) if I get stuck ;)
Find me when you get there and I will put you to work :D

ok, all i have to say is DON'T get stuck. does anyone know a good place to camp in a tent (perferably in a campground) close to the event. is there a spot were everyone is going to camp
Thanks,
Devon

I will talk to dale and seew if it is Ok if you camp there the night before, if you are helping out I don't see it being a problem

So in the end after the landowner spent 10's of thousands of dollars and all the time. It is offical no wrong doing and no harm was being done:salute:

So is there an event scheduled for this year? It'll probably take a year to coordinate, right?

Not this year, We will see what happens
