newbie question....the other day i took some trails with my jeeper friends. they had alot of sharp rocks within the ground. today i noticed some gouges in my tread. im just wondering, is this from not airing down? or just becasue they are mud tires (tsl radial) or just from the streets? i didnt think i had to air down cuz nobody else did. what should i air down to, if this is the case? thanks for any input.

Gouges are normal with any tire on rocks. You will get less though if you air down. I usually put mine down to 15 psi.

PS: Just because other people on the trail do/don't do something, doesn't mean you have to follow their lead.
