Ok, here we go.
1. Is the front driveshaft supposed to be able to be rotated by hand 1/4 - 1/2 inch. The rear does not rotate at all.
2. At about 60 mph when going up a hill, there is a clunking noise right before, during, and for a little bit after the downshift. What's going on here? It can be felt through the floor.
3. If I have the throttle in a specific range, there is a hissing/sucking noise that can be heard. The 'tone' of the noise can be changed by moving the accelerator, and it is only heard in a small range of throttle position. It can be duplicated more easily if the overdrive is off.
4. When I was lookin' around on the truck today to see if I could figure any of this out, I noticed that there was a buzzing/winding noise when I shut off the truck. It lasted for a few seconds, was repeatable, and it seemed like it was coming from somewhere around the intake.
Hopefully I explained all of these clearly but let me know if you need any more details. My Ex is a 98 SOHC XLT 4WD.
Thanks to those that help.
