Hello All! This is my 1st post. I got my X about 3days ago and i LOVE IT ( I used to have a 97' ).

I have heard different things about washing it( for the 1st 90days ) as in, only use water. Is there anything I Should lookout for because my dealer did not do a good job it looks like they took a paper towel and whiped it down. Its black so it allready needs washing(which i dont mind).

So If anyone has any thoughts please let me have it  ;) ;)

Today's paints are so much better, i would wait to wax it for a couple months, but that may not even apply anymore (as in waiting).

Enjoy your new 06!

those minor scratchs (hair line scratchs) can be fixed by wax and or scratch remover. However, I would wait awhile before applying those. I'm sure we would all like to see some pictures

Washing / Waxing a car

You can wash and wax a factory painted car as soon as you get it.

In the old days waxing too soon could cause "solvent pop", sealing in the escaping solvents from the paint. The factory bakes the paint at such a high temp before the interior is put in the vehicle the paint is fully cured when it leaves the factory. If you have repair work done on your car and a shop repaints any part of the car you should wait about 30-90 days to wax the car depending on the temp. A shop cannot bake the car as hot as the factory bacause the extra heat would damage the electronics and interior.
