I have a 97 5.0 mountaineer I can not get it to start at all. No fire no fuel pressure. I have checked all the fuses there seems to be power on all the fuses. Seems to be power on the fuel pressure relay. Seems to be power on PCM relay. When the key is turned on there is no fuel pressure for 1 second. No spark at all, I have put 3 different computers in, makes no difference. Any suggestions?

Lack of spark suggests no crankshaft position signal to PCM. imp

Thanks everyone for the help. I have a fuel pressure gauge attached to the schrader valve and there is no pressure when the key is turned on or when the engine is turned. The pump will run if the relay is grounded on the wire going to the pcm. Is there anything that would keep the fuel pump from running the one second when the key is turned on? If I understand correctly the pcm controls that.

there is a check engine light on.

X2 what Brooklynbay said..... most likely a broken wire or bad ground wire going from PCM to the pull up of the fuel pump..... especially IF the check engine light is on during cranking and then goes out eventually (maybe depending on how much cranking happens).

Anyways... since you "know" about grounding the pull up of the fuel relay to make it operate, your vehicle should run / start in that mode...ie. put ground on to pull up relay (leave it grounded)... turn key to start and "bingo".... IF that doesn't happen you have other problems (as mentioned the CEL light should be on then go out after some cranking).

Lastly when you say "there seems to be power on all fuses".... that statement doesn't give me much confidence... there is either power or not AND your CHECK should be with a meter NOT your eyes.... looking at fuses for voltage is kind of "superman-like"... it ain't going to happen for most mortals.

there isn't any spark either.
