My 2001 Ranger doesn't start.

Just joined this morning. I have a 2001 ranger, 3.0, auto, 2wd. try to start and all power goes away, no lights,, nothing. I repalced battery, long over due, and the ign switch,. When I turn key on, no power at all, when I turn the dey off, I hear a clicking sound under the dash and a ping along with the clicking, after a couple of minutes, the dome light comes back on and the radio will work buts start over when I try to start. Help if you can please!
