its an 01 sport 4x4 and every time i hit a bump or the little seams on the highway, i can feel every little bit of it, is was just wondering because a friend of mine said it's because its a 4x4 and its built for offroad, is this normal or do i need new shocks and struts?

Very short wheelbase, torsion bar suspension, truck tires, air pressures, all factor into it. They're not very smooth trucks on bumps...

Plus it has a frame instead of a pansy ass unibody like HEEP Cherokees or most SUVs out there.

so it's nothing to be worried about? thanks guys.

Nope, they ride rough

Body mounts made my 01 sport really stiff. I replaced shocks first and then the body mounts fixed the rough ride. Does it make any banging noises when you go over bumps?

my girls sport is also a 01 2wd. hers feels like there no suspension and its riding on ice skates. also when you floor hers it feels like the rear end hits the ground. and the steering is real touchy. i know something is up with hers just havent got around to checking it out, will keep everyone updated with what i can come up with

I also have the same year and model (2wd) it feels like its ice skating as well but my rear end doesn't feel weird when flooring it though. However, it rides rougher than anything I've ever driven...had my shocks replaced already, probably going to toy with the tire pressure next.

I find the ride tolerable but certainly not luxurious, I doubt the 4x4 really matters (a 2wd truck probably rides the same way). The short wheelbase of the sport certainly makes it ride worse than a 4 door though.

Did you check the body mounts? They isolate the body to the frame. My car felt like new when i replaced them.
