My 92 Expl. 4X4 won't engage

I have a 92 explorer 4x4 that just stop going into four-wheel drive. The light on the dash does not come on and when I tried it last night the headlights dimmed after pushing the dash button for 4 wheel drive. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? :exp:

Do a search on how to clean the shift motor. That's usually the problem.

Lots of threads about 4x4 not working. Search and you will find all the answers you need and then some

Physical violence might fix the motor, too. Try it before you clean it, but you will probably still need to clean it soon after.
