hi guys, my 96 is a four door with a 4.0 v6. My question is does it have true four wheel or is it awd? I just got it and would like to know. Thanks in advance
are there knobs on the radio bezel with selections for 4wd hi/lo? if you do then you have a 4wd.. if you dont and you do not have any cv axles in your front suspension then you probably have 2wd.. if you dont have the knobs and you do have cv axles in front then its likely an awd..
You have the 4wd auto system, 4wd low range (only for snow, mud, or sand), and true 2wd, 96 is the last year for true 2wd drive without a mod.
Also, open you drivers door, look at the sticker toward the bottom and post the code you see under AX (Example: 42). Lets see your gear ratio and if you have a limited slip.
