I was going to write a build thread but with 4 kids who has the time.

1997 Exploder with a 5.0, 4r70w, BW4406, 5.13 front and rear riding on Toyo MT 37x13.50 17 and 1993 Explorer front frame graphed in.

I wanted V8 and 4 doors, it isn’t a daily driver but if I want to drive it I can.

Here is a video

37's on a d35 ttb?
I wanna see the frame grafting!!

Welcome

Dana 44 outers. I need to get pictures online. I might make a YouTube slideshow.

I want to see more of this.
Even if you just post pics of the cool details (frame graft) and don't have much verbiage.

Also interested! I did it a little different, leaving the stock frame rails but cut out the stock crossmember and lower arm mounts, and used the stock 1st gen cross member and beam mounts. I'm still not sure what the best method is for a beam conversion, but either way I'm so happy to not have A-arms anymore!

Mounty71 do you have a thread for your scissor conversion?

I read your whole build before I built mine. Pretty cool, I lived in San Diego and last time I was in glamis was New Years 2009. So I like high speed.

I forgot about this thread, I have a few pictures on the phone now.

Both front frames together.

Passenger side merge, the 93’ frame is about 1” narrower and taller then the 97’ so the bolt with heat sucked it into the wider frame. Tighten both sides evenly. I notched the 93 frame to fit above/below and inside 97’. I then welded it up, grinder welds smooth and welded a 1/4 plate from the stock frame splice to the body mount bracket.

Driver side with plate, the radius arm bracket is from a bronco/f150. The center split is me torching it to bend the back ear so I can weld it to the frame. I have beefed up the radius arms since.

The single shock setup with stock coil bucket, the spring is from a 95 bronco 4” ranch lift spring, 435lbs an inch I believe.

Stock steering to the Dana 44 knuckles.

Playing after I align it.
Current alignment roughly .8 camber, 6 caster and .10 degree toe.

Front mount, torched the 97’ mount off the frame and cut the top of the 93’ mount. The bolted the mount to body with appropriate spacer and welded together.
