I am a new member from Sebastian, FL. I just retired and drove my 2000 Explorer Limited from WI to FL. The vehicle is great, but I am having trouble (2nd time) with a blower that constantly stays on 'High' as soon as the vehicle is started. I am hoping to find a solution on you fine forum.

Blower Fan Constantly on 'High'

I have a 2000 Explorer 'Limited'. In the summer of '07, the blower fan started running on 'High' when I started the vehicle. Took it to the dealer in Wisconsin and they put in part XL2Z19E624AA. He called it a 'resistor' on the bill. Everything worked fine until yesterday. Same problem. This is an EATC unit and I read that they don't have 'resistors', but a blower control module. Would you suggest just ordering the same part and replacing it? It seems that part is a 'blower control module' and the dealer 'mis-named' it on the bill. Can I do this myself? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the Response Brooklyn Bay

Yes, the vehicle does have electronic climate control. The fan comes on as soon as the vehicle is started and only runs on 'high'. I can't turn it off or down. Had this fixed once before at a Ford dealer in WI. I called them today and he gave me the part number:XL2Z19E624AA, but called it a 'resistor'. It's my understanding the EATC units don't have a 'resistor' but a blower control module which fits this part number. I am assuming they gave me the correct part for replacement, but the wrong description.

Thanks.

Help

Being new, I don't see an 'A/C & Heater' forum. Could you please direct me?
Thanks.
