2003 Ford Ranger. My son drove it home one night-no problems. Next morning put the key in the ignition, no resistance in key, would not start. Also, steering wheel wasn't locked. We replaced the key lock and ignition switch and the anit theft light is blinking. This whole scenario makes no sense to me, but I'm not used to working on cars, but now I'm old and retired and have to. Any help or questions would be appreciated. Jim

I've considereded the PATS system, not sure if i have one or what to do about it if I do. But thanks for the reply. Jim

You may want to call the "lock smith" who work on PATS system. He will have to reprogram your key to your computer.

Well, I finally took it to a mechanic, it was a plastic piece in the steering column that connects to the electrical control box (which I changed) for the shifting mech. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow for not too much. Thank you all for your help. Jim
