my audio problem

believe me, this is my job.

i sell rockford fosgate, even though they dont make XLC's anymore, i still have some of the specs incase a customer comes back and needs a new amp or box for their subs.

RMS= 200w
Peak=400w (doesn't mean it will handle 400w)
freq response= 28HZ-500HZ
enclosure volume= 1.25cuft-1.75cuft sealed
1.50cuft-2.50cuft ported

what do you suggest then?

well, since you already have the sony (doubt they will give back the MTX) just keep the gain down a little. you might be ok that way. sony amps are not very efficient, they rarely put out the power they claim. like i said they are rated @14.4 volts, compard to MTX's 12.5 volts. i have an Audiobahn amp rated at 600watts rms at 12.5 volts, and it puts out 1008 watts rms in my explorer.
they dont rate the peak because it doesn't matter.

my audiobahn 1205X subwoofer handles 1000watts rms, they dont rate peak but it would be about 2000watts peak. if i ran 2000 watts into it, the sub would be cooked.

good idea of eventually stepping up to better brands. you will hear and feel the difference. W6's are good subs, but for the price, there are much better subs out there. just do some research before rushing into your next purchase.

k thanks for your advice =)
