my door wont lock anymore!

hey guys lately my driver side door has been acting weird lately.. like it hasnt unlocked when i press my button on my keyless entry thing.. so i've been using my key for the first time in a couple days.. and today i go to turn the key and i hear a "snap".. i open my door with ease and then i go to close it and lock it.. IT wont lock anymore!! even if i press the lock button! its weird! how do i fix it? and how much would it cost for me to go to ford to have them fix it?? btw: my car is unlocked since i cant lock it and that means it'll be outside in the driveway for someone to steal it!! man!!! what do i do?

Well, if you find out that the problem is the lock/unlock actuator let me know. I bought one thinking that was the cause of a problem I was having (different problem than yours) and it wasnt, so I have a brand new one that the dealer wont let me return because it's an electrical part. Let me know if thats the part you need and we'll talk.

alright man.. imma go to the dealership tomorow to see wat it is.. if the part is really expensive.. then' i'll just buy yours.. aiight man thanks!

cost me 90 bucks. its easy to put in. dont let them fool you. the service guy said if i had them do it it would be a 2 hour job. $150. I did it in 15 minutes and didn't know what I was doing.

do they gotta order the part.. i mean damm if they do, i'll be shiet outta luck with my door unlocked all the time!

Park that door tight against a wall until you can get it fixed....

or tie the 2 door handles together and exit out the back door

Clark, how comfortable are you in taking the door panel off? I did it, it's not too bad. Reply back if you want instructions, I or another member will walk you through taking the panel off and manually latching it.
