Is your tail gate cracked? Vertical line above and to the right of the license plate recessed area, going up to the window.

Yep. any way to make Ford fix it free without a lawyer? lol.

There was already a class action lawsuit. Lawyers got millions, Ford owners got a $500 credit toward the purchase of a new Ford.

While on RockAuto the other day, looking for an emblem, I noticed those pieces are sold by Dorman, listed at Rear Panel Applique. approx. $100, less paint color

Only way I know of would be take it in for the liftgate hinge recall. If the hinges at the top are rusted or leaking on the inside it may not have been fixed.
I think only reason they replaced mine tho is they broke the glass trying to do the repair of the recall in the first place. Mine is an 03 not sure about 04 or 05.

Probably cheaper to just use filler and paint it. I need to get some OEM paint anyway to paint a rusted area of my roof I repaired.

In the few days after I bought my Exp I went to a dealer to have them run my VIN for open recalls. The hinges had already been replaced.

The piece expands and contracts. If you fill it, when it contracts it may just pop off.

I'd get your paint code and pick up a can of Duplicolor from a parts store. NAPA paint stores can make an aerosol can of your paint if it's not available otherwise.

Edit: looking at the Amazon link, the spray can they are showing looks like something a paint store would make. I'd go to a local NAPA paint store (if you have one) and see what their price would be. There'd be no freight for one.

Color code is "JP" and Duplicolor does not make a can of it AFAIK.

Boy did this thread take a left turn . . .

Your correction of the "Factory Delete" looks great!
