My Lights are Too Bright!!!

The blue coating on the bulb reduces the lumen output of the bulb. After the blue lights I never got flashed, and with the whites it was every single day.
what brand were they?

I guarantee that if you get a few hundred feet back from your headlights and have them compared to a regular set of headlights that they will have a bluish tint to them overall (simulate coming down the road facing these lights). They look white from up close, but much further back they will be bluish.

i must test this theory... well if i could get together with a friend ill check this out...

I have diamond cuts with a HID bulb conversion on my 1998 and haven't been flashed yet. I aimed them a tad lower because of this concern.

no one in CA will every flash anyone (unless they dont know the possible consequences)... this is the state with the biggest road rage problem... the only time ive seen anyone flash somebody, it was to move when the light turned green (this was at night, but the honk is even more common)

My buddy had the same problem, people kept flashing because they thought he had his highbeams on, so now he just leaves his highbeams on all the time and gets flashed less :D

I just have to chime in and say that I have silverstars with diamond cut headlights, and they are definately aimed up a little bit.. I never get flashed....

Hmmmm.... I'll have to keep my eye out for ya!

I can only dream of this problem. My headlights can't be bright enough...

I think it matters if you drive city or rural. In the city the really bright lights are more of a pain than a need. In the country, on the other hand, the better the lights the longer you live - with deer, curves, or what have you coming your way on rural roads, great lights are more than a mere accessory - they are a necessity.

With that thought in mind, I actually bought a couple sets of those "hyper blue" lights - and while they are great in city traffic, they are not what I wanted or expected for rural roads.

If you want a couple sets to play with, I'll send you two pair - one brand new the other used for about 30 days - for $15 + shipping to wherever you are. Just let me know.
