My MPG should be WHAT??????????

Sorry if i'm going over old ground but i've not yet got the hang of this website.
My simple question is can anyone tell me what mpg i should be getting out of my '99 4.0 Auto Explorer

Welcome Rob! I think most 4.0ers get anywhere from 16-23mpg.

Hi Rob,

As another UK owner I can tell you that I get on average 18.8 MPG and on a run about 24 MPG. Any rating you get from us members will be for US galls so they won't compare.

I get 16-17mpg commuting back and forth to work in my 94 4.0 XLT.

hahahaha i wish i got anywhere near that many i avg 8-10 with new plugs, air filter,wires,fuel filter any sugestions?
