- explorer 93 eddie bauer
so i bought a 93 explorer, the leather seats that are in the car say Eddie Bauer and limited and don't look similar in design ( one has a adjustable head rest, the other does not) so im not sure if its really an eddie bauer anyone know how i can tell?
the car had about 95,000 miles on it and was forsale for 900, so i got it.
im 21 and only kinda car suave and often find myself renting tools or jimmy rigging what i have available to me
so far this is what i have done
replaced the head gasket ( this was really hard, took about 6 weekends and i eventually had to take it to the community college to get all my vacuum lines back in the right place) while everything was apart i changed the thermostat because it seemed hard to reach if the engine was not already fully dismantled.
while the car was apart i noticed a crazy large amount of carbon build up but my pistons had virtually no wear on them.
since then i have bought some used a/t tires , changed the fuel filter ( im pretty sure this was the original one put in the car judging by the black suit like material that came out of the old filter, flushed the radiator and flushed the engine.
problems that i still need to tackle are ; 4x4 not lighting up or clicking, lights will short out if i pull the knob to far back, my muffler must have a huge crack in it because she yells like a diesel.
Does anyone have suggestions on needed 100,000 miles maintenance, ways to improve mpg, or any cheapish but worth wild modifications?
