I've got my new slave cylinder here for my '94. It looks really nice, but I notice that in it's natural out position (uninstalled) that it kind of sticks a little bit. When I push it down I have to push it past a little click before it compresses. It doesn't seem too abnormal, but I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed something like this before? I don't think it will affect it's function, but I wouldn't want it to wear out or anything. It would have to be pushed all the way out by the pedal for it to reach the 'click zone' and when released it would just compress back down again. Any thoughts on this?

Um I dont think you are suppossed to touch that sucker, dont compress it without fluid in it.....

Isn't it going to compress when I stab the tranny?

nope, it wont compress until you bleed the system and press on the clutch pedal

Huh? That doesn't make sense. Doesn't it push INTO the clutch plate to release the clutch?

Seriously, isn't a slave, when it's not installed, in it's 'expanded' position? Then, when installed, it gets pressed down by the pressure plate, and then when the pedal is pressed, it 'expands' and pushes into the pressure plate to release the clutch. So, when the tranny is installed, the slaved gets pushed down (or compresses) inbetween the pressure plate and the tranny. Is this wrong?

It presses against the clutch fork and does not operate correctly until it is bleed of all air.
