This past weekend I purchased a new pioneer deh p6400 w/ the screen savers. It's a great idea for showing off to friends and messing around with. On the other hand, I couldn't see the display at all for the first five hours I had it in. Anytime the sun shines into the truck it creates one heck of a glare and you can't see that expensive show or read anything on it. Also, when if finally got dark out driving became an adventure. If you can keep your eyes on the road then you can still see the screen flickering as it changes in the corner of your eye. Very distracting. I took it back and exchanged for the pioneer deh p4400. It has all the same features except for the display does not have the little screen savers. The display is alot brighter and easier to read. Just though I'd give you guys my 2 cents.

Good point!! I was never into all that flashy screen saver stuff:bounce:

I just got that DEH 8400MP honestly most of the screen savers boar me... I do like the bass/treble reads one though. I still like all the controls it has and it plays MP3s... if the screen savers played longer before repeating it would be cool

I turn all that junk off on my p930. Its annoying.

Now see, Ive had the 7200 for almost a year and a half now, and Ive had no problems with brightness/distraction... Hmm... Of course then again I do drive a 5spd, while talkin on my cell phone and hangin my gf's hand... haha... ok not really... but yeah, the screen savers never relly bothered my attention on the road... oh well... the pioneer has beena GREAT HU.

I have the 6400 as well. Im not all that interested in the screen saver things. I turn them on when I want to impress someone but thats about it. I dont like how it goes from one color scheme to the opposite like every ten seconds. That is distracting. I know I can turn it off but oh well. The dolphins are always good when a lady hops in the X though!

i have a P930 for the EQ and DSP. i do like that i can put my own pics on it thow!

just so you know, you can turn the inversion off ( i like it on) and you can turn the ssvrs off (read the manual!)

my dehp-7400mp is a super awesome head unit and i gotta say i've been beating the crap out of it for 3 months without a single problem...except for the remote is too small and i always drop it in between the cup holder thing and the side of the drivers seat lol

i agree it can be annoying but the strokes i get when people ride in my car for the first time are worth leaving it on. Also there's a way to adjust the brightness of the display just so you know
