My 2 year old shoved a coin in the cd player and now when a cd is in it makes a grinding noise. To get the cd player out of the truck to try to remove the coin, do I have to rip the entire dash apart or is there an easier way?

Yes you need to remove the bezel, you can do a search, there are threads with pics showing exactly what to do, there's also another one showing how to disassemble the HU and re-align the trays

Thanks. I kinda figured there wouldn't be an easy way around it. I will try to do it this weekend if I can find the time.

Yep- bezel. Tougher to extract them than on the Gen II's, but hey- it would have been a much more involved job if it was a grilled cheese sandwich... :D

Putty knife, carefully around the bezel to pop it out. I had to do it long ago when i put the ford fog light kit in. Good luck!

By the way, i always buy the warranty on electronics since i have kids.....:D

In the garage we use to electrical tape on the end of a screw driver to pop open those type of dashes. No scrapes and no worries!
