IMO yes. That way by the time the 31's wear down, you probably will have saved up enough for lower gears. 3.73's are fine for 31's, especially if you're just gonna be mudding with it.

Well i put another thing in the explorer tonight! I added a 3 D battery Maglight flashlight. I picked up the kit at Home Depot. I like it and it is very handy.

Also tonight i put my Cobra CB in. I got the hand held model and the box is hidden between the seat and the console. it is powered by the cig. lighter. i decided not to run wires to the battery b/c i got invintive and ran to radio shack and picked up a cig addaptor then gives it power. on wed i have to go get a CB antenna magnet to mount my 3 foot red Firestick antenna on the roof. I also have to get it tuned b/c i don't know how to do it myself nor the tools.

i also put 2, 1 gal and 4 oz gas cans up on the rack! there held on there by bungy cords for now. in a little bit they'll be replaced by custom cases that i'm building that will hold them.

I bet a little duct tape would hold those gas cans a bit better than the bungies...lol is that safe to have gas cans bungied to your roof rack?

Do you run out of gas often enough that you need gas cans on your roof held on by temporary means?

soon i'll be locking them up there. next week
there pretty snug up there. you'd have to have a ladder to get them down. can't get them form the ground. i had to open my door and put them on there that way.

well that's another thought. i thought of geting a blue one for that but i thought 2 red ones looked better. the cans are only $2.30 so i'm not to conserned about the cans up there.
