Hey guys,
My name is Tyler Sloan I just recently bought a 92 x for 500 bucks has a v6 auto with about 148,000 on the clock.
What I would like to do is up grade to 4x4 SAS swap and a better auto trans to replace the turd of a transmission . Would also like to put a exocage on it with a roof rack and spare tire carrier on the back with roof mounted lights .
Custom bumpers with winches front and rear .

Now time for the n00b questions
What is the cheapest route to take with a SAS swap ? Don't care if I have 1/2 ton up to 1 ton axles just what ever will work with a 4.0 and 37's .

Also what auto trans will work with my electronics again the easiest swap I can
The stock trans works great now but I have a feeling as soon as I put 37's on I'll have problems .

Welcome to this forum! You have an A4LD transmission. You could put a GM 700R4 transmission in with adapters. It's possible to use a 5R55E if you're good at doing wiring. It will require an OBD-II PCM to run with your current EEC-IV PCM. A member on this site did this. Do a search for a 5R55E swap.

Thanks for the info after I looked around and searched I think I'm going with the G.M trans and 78 to 79 bronco axles seems to be the easiest route to accomplish what I want to do .
I'm a welder by trade and my first mod will be rock sliders even tho I don't have 4wd at the moment I have some rust repair and the easiest way to fix that would be to remove the rockers .
Progress will be slow at first I'm saving my money right now because I have a child on the way and that comes first .

Welcome
